Palworld Condensation Guide (1.0): 48 Pals to 4 Stars

Quick answer

Condensation fuses duplicate Pals into one at the Pal Essence Condenser (Tech Level 14). In 1.0 the four stars cost 4, 8, 12 and 24 copies, 48 in total (down from 116). Each star adds about 5% HP, Attack and Defense and raises the partner skill and work suitability.

Condensation is how you turn a good Pal into a great one without breeding a new one. You feed duplicates of the same species into the Pal Essence Condenser and the Pal you keep gains stars. Palworld 1.0 made it much cheaper and more useful for base workers.

The official 1.0 patch notes cut the total needed for maximum rank from 116 to 48. That turns a full condense from a grind into a realistic goal for your main Pals.

Mutated Pals hatch at two stars, so they need only 36 more copies. See mutations.

What each star gives

  • Stats: about +5% HP, Attack and Defense per star (about +20% at four stars).
  • Partner skill: levels up with condensation. This is the only way to raise a partner skill, which makes it essential for Pals whose partner skill is the whole point (mount speed buffs, base-wide boosts, combat buffs).
  • Work suitability (new in 1.0): each star raises the Pal's highest work suitability by one; at four stars, all its other work suitabilities go up by one as well. With the 1.0 cap at level 10, this is one of the best ways to get a worker there. See also work suitability books.

What it doesn't do

  • Passives of the copies don't transfer. Only the kept Pal's passives count, so condense the Pal with the best passives, not a random one.
  • Talents (IVs) don't change. Condense your best-talent copy. See IVs and talents.

Which Pals are worth condensing

  • Your main base workers. The work suitability boost per star pays off every minute the base runs.
  • Mounts whose partner skill boosts speed or stamina, since the partner skill levels up.
  • Your main combat Pals, for the stat boost, after the passives are right.
  • Easy-to-breed species. 48 copies is far easier when two cheap parents on Vegetable Cake produce them two at a time.

Getting copies fast

  • Breed them. A same-species pair (one male, one female) on Vegetable Cake gives two eggs per cycle. Run several farms.
  • Catch them. For common species this is often quicker than breeding.
  • Don't feed good passives in. Check each copy before condensing; a copy with Legend or Artisan is worth more as a breeding parent.

Condensation vs the Statue of Power

They are separate systems. The Statue of Power uses Pal Souls to raise stats permanently, while condensation uses duplicate Pals. You can use both on the same Pal.

Plan your pairs with the breeding calculator — it runs the same rules on the Palworld data.

Frequently asked questions

#
How many Pals do you need to fully condense in Palworld 1.0?

48 copies on top of the Pal you keep: 4 for the first star, 8 for the second, 12 for the third and 24 for the fourth. Early Access needed 116.

What does condensing a Pal do?

Each star adds roughly 5% to HP, Attack and Defense (about 20% at four stars), levels up the partner skill, and raises work suitability.

Does condensing raise work suitability in 1.0?

Yes. Each star raises the Pal's highest work suitability by one, and reaching four stars raises all of its remaining work suitabilities by one.

Do the sacrificed Pals' passives transfer?

No. Only the Pal you keep matters. Its passives and talents stay; the copies are used up.

Is condensing the only way to level a partner skill?

Yes. Condensation is the only way to raise a Pal's partner skill level.
