About PalToolkit
Data: Palworld 1.0.5 game files (Steam build 25247047)Updated
PalToolkit is an unofficial, free Palworld breeding calculator and game database. It is a fast, independent reference for Palworld players: a breeding calculator plus a database of Pals, passive and active skills, work suitability and elements, with computed tier lists and short guides.
Why it exists
Most breeding tools compute results in the browser and hide them from search engines, and they can be slow on phones. Here every answer is written into the page itself, pages are small, and the calculator runs its maths off the main thread.
Where the data comes from
Numbers come from the Palworld 1.0.5 game data, compiled with three open-source projects, all under the MIT licence: palcalc, palworld-atlas-data and PalEdit. Thanks to their authors. Every breeding result on this site was checked pair by pair against palcalc's calculator. Descriptions are written in our own words. Pal portraits and item icons are Palworld images © Pocketpair, Inc., taken from the open-source editors PalEdit, Palworld-Pal-Editor and PalCalc; the world maps are the in-game map art © Pocketpair, Inc., as shipped by the open-source PalDex project.
Partner skills, drops, item recipes and map markers are cross-referenced with Kimpton's Palworld Breeding Guide (palworld.kimpton.io). Thanks to kimpton. Their site states no licence, so we use only facts from it (numbers, names and coordinates), never its text or images.
Methods
The breeding rules page explains the formula we implement, and each tier list shows its scoring formula. When the game is patched, we re-extract the data and publish a patch page.
How we count pairs
Palworld 1.0.5 has 300 Paldeck entries. Astralym cannot be bred at all (the game excludes it from breeding), so 299 Pals can go on a Breeding Farm. 299 breedable Pals give 44,850 distinct parent pairs (unordered, same-species pairs included). One pair, Katress + Wixen, hatches a different child depending on which parent is male, so per-child lists add up to one more result than there are pairs.
How we pick the earliest pair
On every Pal page the parent pairs are ranked by how early you can catch both parents: a Pal's catch level is the lowest level it spawns at in the wild (or its alpha level if it never spawns otherwise), and a pair's level is the higher of its two parents. The lowest pair level comes first; ties go to the more common parents (higher breeding power). Pals that cannot be caught in the wild go last. The level is a guide to when a pair becomes reachable, not a promise that both parents are easy to find.
Free data API
The facts on this site are also published as free, static JSON files for developers: Pals, breeding pairs, a full breeding matrix, items, skills, eggs, bosses and more, plus a tiny JavaScript client. See the PalToolkit API docs; credit "Data by PalToolkit (paltoolkit.com)" when you use it.
Licence: the API files (/api/v1/) and the JSON our tools load from /data/ are free to reuse under CC BY 4.0. They contain only our own computations (breeding results, earliest pairs, egg rules, map coordinates) and facts from MIT-licensed open-source extractions of the game files. Facts we show on pages from sources whose terms we cannot relicense (partner skills, drops, item recipes, technology, structures, catch rates) are not part of the licensed files. Game data and art are © Pocketpair, Inc. and are not covered by our licence.
