Palworld breeding calculator and guide

Quick answer

PalToolkit's Palworld breeding calculator is a free pal breeding calculator for all 299 Pals, 44,850 parent pairs and 136 special recipes in Palworld 1.0.5: pick two parents to see their child, pick a child to see every parent pair, or plan the shortest breeding path from the Pals you own. Breeding itself needs a Breeding Farm (Technology Level 19), a male and a female Pal from your base, and Cake. The child's species is set by the parents' breeding power or by a special recipe; passives, talents and a small mutation chance are rolled on top.

Breeding is the heart of Palworld's endgame. It is the only way to get many Pals, and the best way to build a Pal with the exact passives and stats you want. This hub collects everything: the full breeding chart, the breeding power list, a plain-English explanation of the rules, and guides for each step, from building your first farm to stacking four passives and hunting mutations. If you just want a quick answer, the calculator on the home page gives the child of any pair and every pair for any child. If you are planning a serious breeding project, start with the rules page, then read the guides on passive inheritance and talents. Everything here is based on Palworld 1.0 data. Many Early Access combinations changed at launch, so if an older guide's route stopped working, check the 1.0 breeding changes explainer.

The calculator runs on the home page: pick two parents for their child, a child for every parent pair, or your own Pals for the shortest path. Every one of the 44,850 results is precomputed from the Palworld 1.0.5 data.

The three rules

  1. Same species: two Pals of the same species always hatch that species.
  2. Special recipes: 136 specific pairs always hatch a fixed child, whatever their ranks. They are listed on the breeding chart.
  3. Breeding power: otherwise, add both parents' combi ranks, add one, halve and round down. The child is the Pal whose combi rank is closest to that number (Pals that only come from special recipes are skipped).

The rules page walks through the maths with an example and how to set up a farm.

Frequently asked questions

#
Is this the Palpedia breeding calculator?

No. Palpedia is a separate fan site; the in-game Pal encyclopedia is called the Paldeck. PalToolkit is an independent Palworld breeding calculator that covers the whole 1.0.5 Paldeck (299 breedable Pals, 44,850 parent pairs, 136 special recipes) and lists every combo as plain text on each Pal page.

Where is the pal breeding calculator?

On the home page: the pair tool gives the child of two Pals, the parent finder lists every pair for a target, and the path finder plans the fewest breedings from your own Pals. The chart and power list on this hub are the same data as tables.

What level do you unlock breeding in Palworld?

The Breeding Farm is at Technology Level 19. In 1.0 it is an Ancient Technology: 2 Ancient Technology Points (after beating Lily and Lyleen), then 50 Fiber, 20 Stone and 10 Wooden Boards.

What do I need to breed Pals?

A Breeding Farm, one male and one female Pal assigned to your base, Cake in the farm's box, and an Egg Incubator to hatch the eggs.

Did 1.0 change breeding?

Yes: many combinations were rewritten, mutation was added, four new Cakes arrived, and inherited active skills now come only from the parents' equipped skills.

How do I breed a Pal with good passives?

Use parents that carry only passives you want. The child inherits 1 to 4 of the parents' pooled passives (40/30/20/10% odds), and Special Cake pushes that to four.

What is a mutation?

A 1.0 mechanic: a small chance (about 1%, about 3% with Extravagant Vegetable Cake) that an egg is mutated, hatching an Alpha Pal with high talents and a mutation-only passive.
