Palworld left Early Access on 10 July 2026, and breeding was one of the most heavily changed systems. If a breeding route from an old guide or video suddenly gives the wrong Pal, this is why. Here is everything that changed, from the 1.0 launch through patch 1.0.5 (15 September 2026).
1. Combinations were rewritten
The 1.0 changelog says breeding combinations were reviewed overall so that getting each Pal matches game progression. In practice, many Early Access pairs now hatch a different child.
- Penking + Bushi used to be the famous early route to Anubis. In 1.0 it gives Sibelyx.
- Anubis is still breedable: our 1.0 data lists 234 parent pairs that hatch it.
- 72 new Pals joined the Paldeck, which also shifted where many breeding-power averages land.
What to do: ignore Early Access charts and old videos. Every breeding table on this site is computed from 1.0 game data; check the breeding calculator or the Pal's own page. The rules themselves are explained in how breeding works.
2. Mutation was added
Each egg now has a small chance (community data: about 1%, about 3% with the best cake) to be a mutated egg. Mutated Pals are Alphas with two condensation stars, high talents and a mutation-only rainbow passive. Full details in the mutation guide.
3. Four new Cakes
| Cake | Effect |
|---|---|
| Mushroom Cake | Children's talents roll slightly higher |
| Vegetable Cake | Two eggs at once |
| Extravagant (Deluxe) Vegetable Cake | More mutations, better talents |
| Special Cake | More passives inherited from the parents |
Plain Cake still works as before. Recipes and unlock levels are in the Breeding Farm guide.
4. Active skill inheritance changed
A child now inherits active skills picked at random from the three skills equipped on each parent, not from everything the parents know. Equip the moves you want passed down before you put the pair on the farm.
5. Faster eggs in new worlds
Incubation time was halved in newly created Normal and Hard difficulty worlds. An existing save keeps its old value unless you change the world setting.
6. Related changes that affect breeders
- Condensation is cheaper: 48 copies for four stars instead of 116, and each star now raises work suitability. See condensation.
- Work suitability goes to level 10 (it was 5), which changes which Pals are worth breeding for base work. See work suitability books.
- Many new passive skills, including rainbow and World Tree passives, plus one-use implants for the Surgery Table. See passive inheritance and the Surgery Table guide.
