#Two ways. Breeding: when two parents hatch one of the Pals above, the egg in the Breeding Farm box is a Dark Egg; pick the parents with the breeding calculator. In the wild: eggs lie on the ground at set spots all over the map and come back after a while (all 1,816 egg spawn points). Put the egg in an Egg Incubator to hatch it.

Why did my Dark Egg hatch a different Pal than expected?
A bred egg always holds the child the parents make; a wild egg holds any Pal of its element and size. With a 1% chance (3% with an Extravagant Vegetable Cake) a bred egg is mutated and hatches a lower-ranked species.
