How Palworld breeding works

Every Pal has a hidden breeding power (combi rank). When two different Pals breed, the game takes the average of their two values, rounded, and hatches the Pal whose combi rank is closest to that number. A short list of special recipes overrides that rule, and two Pals of the same species always hatch their own species. The calculator above applies exactly these rules to the Palworld 1.0.5 data, and every Pal page lists all of its parent pairs as plain text.

To breed, build a Breeding Farm, put a male and a female Pal on it and a Cake in the farm's box; the egg appears in that box and hatches in an Egg Incubator.

Breeding in Palworld comes down to one number per Pal, its breeding power, plus a list of special recipes that override it. That is easy for a computer and tedious by hand, so this page does it for you. Use the pair tool to see what two Pals hatch, the parent finder to list every combination for a target, and the path finder to plan a route from the Pals already in your Palbox. Everything runs in your browser on a precomputed table, so results appear as you type. The data comes from Palworld 1.0 game files, not from Early Access charts. That matters: 1.0 rewrote many combinations, so old routes like Penking + Bushi for Anubis now give a different Pal. When a patch changes breeding, the tables are rebuilt and the differences are listed. Once you know which Pal to breed, the guides cover the rest: setting up a Breeding Farm, choosing a Cake, and passing the right passive skills to the child.

  • Gender only matters for a handful of special recipes; for every other pair you just need one male and one female.
  • New: the Palworld map with alpha bosses and fast travel points.
  • Every result is also written out on each Pal page, so you can check a combo without JavaScript.

Frequently asked questions

#
How does breeding work in Palworld?

Each Pal has a breeding power (combi rank). The game averages the parents' values and hatches the Pal whose power is closest, unless the pair is a special recipe. Two Pals of the same species always make that species.

Does this pal calculator cover every Pal?

Yes. This pal breeding calculator covers all 299 breedable Pals in Palworld 1.0.5: any of them can be a parent or a child, and the 44,850 pair results are precomputed from the game data, so nothing is estimated.

Is this calculator updated for Palworld 1.0?

Yes. It uses Palworld 1.0.5 game data, and many combinations changed from Early Access. The data version and date are shown at the bottom of every page.

Does gender matter when breeding?

You need one male and one female. Which is which only changes the result for Katress + Wixen, which hatches Katress Ignis or Wixen Noct depending on the genders.

What is the shortest breeding path?

The fewest breeding steps from Pals you own to your target. Add your Pals to My Pals, pick a target, and the path finder lists each pair in order.

Can the calculator plan passive skills?

It shows species results. For passives, read our passive inheritance guide: the odds depend on the parents' combined passives and the Cake you use.
